On October 16, 2024, the group standard working group meeting of "Flywheel Energy Storage Device for Traction Power Supply System of Urban Rail Transit" organized by the Traction Electrical Equipment and System Sub-Technical Committee of the Standardization Technical Committee of China Urban Rail Transit Association (SC13) was successfully held in Qingdao.

"China Urban Rail Transit Green Urban rail Development Action Plan" proposed "to build a green urban rail standard system... Constantly summarize the achievements of the green development of the industry and the standardization needs, and promote the green transformation of the preparation of green urban rail standards and the revision of existing standards. The large flywheel energy storage device for urban rail transit with independent intellectual property rights in China has been applied in batches in many lines of Qingdao Metro, and pilot demonstrations have also been carried out at many stations such as Guangyangcheng Station of Beijing Metro Fangshan Line and Wuhan Optics Valley Line, all of which have achieved very impressive energy-saving effects.

Taking only the 15MW flywheel energy storage device invested in the first phase of Qingdao Metro Line 6 as an example, the expected life cycle saving of electricity is more than 140 million yuan, and after the construction of all the flywheel energy storage projects under construction in Qingdao Metro, the annual power saving of the whole network can reach 62 million KWH, and the carbon reduction is about 62,000 tons. The flywheel energy storage device for traction power supply system of urban rail transit is an outstanding achievement in the construction of "green urban rail" in China.

According to the actual network application situation and technical development level of domestic urban rail transit flywheel energy storage device, the standard preparation working group has standardized the use conditions, system composition, functional requirements, performance requirements and test methods of urban rail transit flywheel energy storage device, filling the standard gap and solving the lack of uniform standards for product design, manufacturing and inspection. The problem of lack of standard basis for the promotion of green technology achievements.

According to the results of this meeting, the standard preparation group will complete the follow-up standard preparation work with high quality, ensure that the standard is successfully submitted for approval and released, provide high-quality group standards for the construction of new urban rail transit lines and the transformation of existing lines, and contribute to the development of "green urban rail".
